Importance of easy bar tire bore lubricant: Lubrication of kiln tires is an important part of overall kiln maintenance.  It is proven to reduce wear that results from the scoring of the inside bore of the kiln riding ring.  When the kiln tire lubricant is properly used with the latest technologies, it can slow the wear of filler bars, stop blocks and eliminate breakage of filler bar welds. 

Easy bar kiln tire lube, consists of a special auto point synthetic thickener with organic and metallic solid film-forming components. The use of easy bar lube deposits its solid film onto surfaces of the kiln filler bars and kiln tire ring bore to assure maximum protection against galling and cold welding.

Easy bar lube, applying an easy solid bar of lubricant between the filler bars of a rotary kiln.  The lubrication bars melt upon contact and the rolling action of the kiln distributes solid film-forming lubrication to the surface of its filler bars, ring bore, and stop blocks.  A thin temperature-resistant film lubricant (caused by lubrication bars) creates a barrier between these moving surfaces, filling in microscopic imperfections and assuring protection from cold welding and galling.

Easy Bar® is a high-temperature kiln lubricant in the form of a solid bar inserted between the kiln tire bore and the kiln shell. Our patented lubricant melts slowly, enabling precise distribution of graphite and copper to desired areas. Easy Bar® does not become slippery and slide out after insertion.

Filler rods and refractory bricks are an important part of the life of the kiln shell. When properly maintained and lubricated, the filler rod allows the ride ring to float during thermal expansion under operating conditions.

Excessive wear of the filler rods can lead to high ovality conditions, which can lead to loss of refractory material and possible misalignment of the ride ring with the kiln shell. A protective graphite lubricating coating extends the life of the filler rod and reduces wear on the filler rod surface and ride ring bore, while also minimizing stop and ride ring scratching. Not only will this save you maintenance costs, but it will also extend the life of your kiln, saving you $20,000 to $60,000 per tire section.

INSTALLATION OF EASY BAR ROTARY KILN TYRES LUBE

Installation of easy bar kiln tire high temperature lubricant; involves placing a whole lube bar between the filler bars or pads at the five or seven o’clock positions every quarter turn of the kiln as it travels through one full revolution. 

The number of lube bars used per tyre/pier may vary depending upon the operational parameters of a kiln.  These parameters can include the speed of kiln rotation, temperature, and the load of the kiln shell itself.  The shell of the kiln should be at or above 125 degrees Fahrenheit when the bar is applied.  The standard frequency of application is four bars per tire pier per week.
